I transferred a char to ZH3, and honestly, its the best ZH-based, CR-style, POL Server online at the moment. They do have their own style though, and a few tweaks to the ZH feel. For example:
- Fewer ores and different hides/logs.
- New GM Weaps, jewelry etc.
- Hunter Classe: Warrior with magery, archery and resist.
- Thiefs tweak: Include Fencing, exclude Removetrap.
and others...
Only major issue is the fact that most players are already Lvl 4+, skill gain is hard, and the Perk system works greatly to your advantage in case you donate/pay. Russians are friendly though...

Hey guys! I am trying www.kaosinferno.com.brI am not familiar with the server but it seems new and somewhat easy. You can boost 3 skills and 1 stat to 130. It is similar to Chaotic Realm. Considering that ZHD wont come back up, if you want to find another one, it might be worth the try. Regards |

Guys,
Many of us have started playing in KAOS (www.kaosinferno.com.br/).
Server seems to be pretty ok, had some of its base scripts off Fantasia - 59 players online. It runs on UO:ML and includes many new features. They are giving out permanent free-donator access until Friday to every new player.
Three skill and one stat boost to 130 - Cap at 150 (with power scrolls after 135) - Race give additional bonuses - New bosses - Quests, and several other features including a different world that is PVP-able with no looting and special hunting locations only accessible after killing a special super boss.
Skill gain is quite easy, going from 0 - 100 in a couple of hours, then gets harder.
Meanwhile we wait on the ServUO, RunUO copies and all the other ZH servers that will pop-up, this is worth giving it a try. It reminds me of CR in a way.

Since the shard (KAOS) is based in Brazil, have any Europeans tried playing on it? How's the latency? And is there any way to reduce the latency when it's high?

But to reduce latency you can use WTFast (it's what we used when playing ZHD to reduce our latency). Works quite well and you can use the free-version perfectly. If I were you, i'd log-in tomorrow to check it out and ask for donator. Seems like after that they'll stop giving away free donator access... Its what I told all my other friends that are reluctant to join... IF the shard picks up and you decide to join at a later date, at least you will have a char with donator access. |
