I know that we all wants this shard to come up again but i understand why dreams feels its pointless to open it the attack may ended but still if he puts up the shard we all are happy and keep playing and having fun but what happend when someone crying again and the shard getting attacked again? If the shard comes up for one last try the question will be ? - What gonna happend in future?
- Will it be attacked again?
- Can people accept and handle the outcome?
i see the hate and the love on this forum and i dont know the reason, if the shards comes up we all are enemys and friends and the spirit lives again. Some are evil and some are angels. |

The true is: the attack was suceful cause the shard is very weak in security matters, but is very easy to solve, and have a lot of ways to do that, is just about want to.

The only way to solve this issue is to place the shard in a server farm where plenty of protection/assistance is given to customers when it comes to denial of service attacks. However this isn't cheap and as this is a project that Dreams started just to give people a decent ZH shard and make it low maintenance.
It turned out to be the opposite though. It was costing more and more time for him to keep the server operational and corruption/cheat free.
Fact remains that in today's world it just isn't possible to run a private shard in your own home anymore .
If you decide to host a shard please keep this in mind and put it in a server farm.

I get that its high maintenance, and in combination with the attacks its just to much, there is no real protection agains these kinds of attack. The only way this could ever work is by forceing all players to use some kind of vpn client such as hamachi and hide the public ip. Not sure many player would agree to that |
