After 3 weeks of uptime, the problem happened and the shard went down.
And then we received the information that it would no longer be possible to put it up again.
And at this point, it does not matter how much money we invest, the shard will never be up again.
I am fine with all that. Not happy, but will accept it.
All I would like to ask of you is this: please be honest about your reasons. Explain the problem in a sincere manner.
Is it because data was lost? Is it because you don't have the time to deal with this, if I may say so, "bullshit"? Is it because you won't have the shard hostage to one person's good will to "not attack the server again"?
I mean, what is it? That way, with a clear cut answer, we won't have to deal with people(and I include myself in this) asking/begging you to put the shard back up again.
I believe/know any technical problem can be solved, with time and money of course. Only the problems of personal nature are more complex and hard to deal with.

Exactly, games every day suffer attacks because of an attack you closed the shard. Do not think it's fair while accepting his motives. I swear, if it were not for you to return behind in your decision, I would not have gone behind the Snoop and asked, begged him to stop the attacks. Juro que se fosse para que voce nao voltasse atras na sua decisao, eu nao teria corrido atras do Snoop e pedido, implorasse para que parasse os ataques. Acho e temo que realmente tenha acontecido isso que o Lushteo esta falando, sera que nao foram perdidos os arquivos, e por isso nao querer colocar o shard online e nem doar os arquivos. Apenas precisamos de uma resposta concreta, pois ficou meio vago falar que apenas nao vai mais abrir o shard. Todos nos jogadores perdemos tempo em jogar aqui, pois acreditamos no shard e vem voce e apenas fecha por causa de uma pessoa, NAO ACHO JUSTO QUE VOCE FAÇA ISSO. |

As Dreams stated. The forum will remain up for the people who feel the need to discuss things or post their own shard. It's pointless to keep asking for the shard to come back up. Dreams already stated he won't be bringing it back up due to the fact that it can simply be DDoS'ed/DoS'ed again at any point when people get unhappy about something. This. An attack like the one ZHD were up against happened after 3 weeks. That person can start attacks anytime he wants or anyone else can, especially now when everyone knows the POL098's weakness. You cant negotiate with terrorists, and in this case the terrorists had too big guns so they killed us. Guns that anyone can pick up at any time. |

There are many, many ways to defend servers against DDoS attacks. That is why I don't believe that is the real reason behind this downfall. |

It's not a DDoS attacking the IP taking out the connection. It's packages specifically targetting the server, and POL098 cannot take that kind of attack.

Again, no point in bashing on Dreams at the moment. Try to find some solutions rather than keep throwing the problem right back at him. He was definitely the one that was most affected on all this, not us players.

nobody wants to admit it, but the only real future for a permanent server is on runuo. simple as that. development is taking a long time, but for all the right reasons - the developers have lives and careers. but if people are actually willing to pay money for a REAL zuluhotel, they should really go talk to jester in IRC - #zuluhotel on quakenet. ruric had the brilliant idea the other day of jester / sith / na85 starting a kickstarter, but the amount of interest is really unknown, and taking money could mean a timeline which i think is a bad idea (timelines = BURNOUT, something that needs to be avoided). but, i mean, if people are so willing to throw money at go-nowhere dime-a-dozen servers like this one, maybe there are people actually willing to throw money towards the development of zuluhotel being ported to a modern emulator that isn't a piece of buggy garbage.
