wasn't the Songbook supposed to use Dex to cast music and playing a music instrument give dex?

i know for sure that was the case on ZHS

That's not the point. The point is it's not functioning as it is supposed to. Shouldn't have to work around something that's not working correctly, it should just be corrected.

Not considering the regen rate versus the amount required to cast. It's been a working system on every ZH shard I've played on prior to this one, and basically required bards to carry potions to refresh stamina in order to cast consistently while hunting. The difference is a majority of bard skills raise dex, instead of int, so it would be logical to have them be a dex based class, instead of int. It's like asking for a mage to cast off stamina. It's not logical, because they're an int based class.

30 gp value of the instrument and Full Refresh potions require 40 skill,and basically no protection (resist ) of their songs

All of their songs are elemental based, so not sure how there's not protections for their songs. Mages have meditation to regain mana, where bards don't. Bards have to have a rare drop item just to cast.

The system of bards casting from stamina has been in place since I started playing on ZH shards, around 14 years ago, and it was never considered to be "overpowered".

12 years, at the least. Zulu Hotel Scandinavia had songs, which was up in 2003. Perhaps a slight miscalculation, but the fact that the song book has used the dex casting system for a number of years remains true.

13 years ago, the players ZHS were shifted to on ZHR,where he played for a long time.Here still use part of the version with ZHR, otherwise what's radiant )

well it all depends on what you get from playing music really. If you get mana from it, it makes sense songs costs mana

Music is still regenerating stamina, not mana, which is completely useless if you're casting using mana. lol
